Yesterday I accompanied Fliss to the award ceremony for the WSET Diploma in wine, at the Guildhall in London. Over 500 graduates from around the world received their Diplomas, either in person or virtually, and a number of of them received additional awards and scholarships. It was a lovely event with Paul Symington CMG presenting all the graduates with their certificates and awards.
I am extremely proud to tell you that Fliss received the highest honour, the Vintners Cup, awarded annually to the graduate achieving the highest mark across all units of the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines. Read more about it here.
I’m sure that everyone will join me in congratulating Fliss on this amazing achievement. Our thanks to the many people who have already congratulated her on passing the Diploma, which is in itself a wonderful accomplishment.
Please rest assured that Fliss is not planning to embark on any further wine studies! She is looking forward to raising a glass with all our friends at societies and on tours, and promises not to correct me too much if I get some finer detail about a wine wrong. I do remind her occasionally that I got my Diploma back in 1993…
Congratulations again to Fliss, and thanks to everyone who supported her learning – not least WSET’s London School in Bermondsey and the RAWS team who led the wine tasting practice.
