I’m Tim Syrad, and I have been educating and entertaining people about wine for over 20 years.

Through my monthly wine society tastings in Richmond and Teddington, fine wine tastings and dinners, my wine tours to Europe and the New World and my corporate wine events, I celebrate the enjoyment that wine brings.

Together we discover new wine varieties and regions, new aromas and tastes, and fascinating matches between wine and food.  I connect wine lovers with wine makers, introducing the people whose passion and dedication create great wine to the people who enjoy it.

I also sell wines that have been popular at my tastings and send out occasional offers.

If you would like to find out more please get in touch or sign up for my regular updates.

Richmond Wine Society annual Blind Wine Tasting challenge @ The Britannia Pub
Aug 6 @ 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Richmond Wine Society annual Blind Wine Tasting challenge @ The Britannia Pub

Every year we dust off our tasting technique, and put our noses and palates through their paces on an eclectic selection of wines – the lucky winner will be crowned ‘Blind Wine Tasting Champion of 2018’. As regulars know, absolutely no knowledge is required to do well!

This event has become a stalwart of the calendar and serves to remind everyone that wine is about enjoyment first and foremost. A completely level playing field is created by tasting blind and with the subtle use of multiple choice questions, red herring commentary from Tim and a few easy to guess wines means anyone can be the winner!

We look forward to seeing you there.

Tim Syrad, who has 25 years experience of running wine tastings, runs Richmond Wine Society, which meets (generally) on the last Tuesday and Wednesday of the month at the Britannia Pub, Brewer’s Lane, Richmond.  Tim is a fervent advocate that wine is to be enjoyed without snobbery. Whether you are a complete novice or an experienced taster, there will be plenty to learn and enjoy.  Tim also runs the monthly Teddington Wine Society and hosts fine wine tastings and dinners in local restaurants.

Summer Dinner ‘At Home’ @ Home
Aug 12 @ 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm
An evening of wine, food and warm hospitality.  I hope we will be outside!
We are generally lucky with the weather so this should be a lovely al fresco evening of great wines and home-cooked food, inspired by the tours I have run to Galicia and North East Italy.

Fine wine tasting dinners are hosted by Tim Syrad, who has 25 years experience of running wine tastings, and also runs the monthly Richmond and Teddington Wine Societies.  He is a fervent advocate that wine is to be enjoyed without snobbery.
