Torrontés Bodegas Kaiken 2021
£12.00
The colour is brilliant yellow-green, and the nose is intensely aromatic, full of orange and grapefruit peel. The palate is fresh and fruity with wonderful zingy acidity, with a long fresh finish.
This would be great with ceviche, or a light young goat’s cheese
The Torrontés grape has found fame and fortune in Argentina. There is a grape of the same name in Spain, but they are not related. Argentine Torrontés is a cross between the Muscat grape (from Europe) and the Mission grape (indigenous to the Americas). Kaiken sources grapes from the prestigious Cafayate Valley in Salta, at an altitude of 1600m above sea level, from vines with an average age of 80 years.
