Sauvignon Blanc Baron de Badassière 2021
It’s hard to find Sauvignon Blanc grown this far south (in the Northern Hemisphere), but the vineyards benefit from cooling Mediterranean sea breezes. It is pure, fresh and aromatic, with delicate elderflower notes on the nose, and apple, lemon and stone fruit on the palate. Medium bodied with a long crisp finish.
Great with Rachel, a semi soft goat’s cheese from the Teddington Cheese, and why not a prawn cocktail if you are feeling a bit retro?
The Baron de Badassière range comes from the Picpoul region of the Languedoc. It’s a really top class range of wine made by Kiwi winemaker Graeme Paul, at the Cave de Pomérols co-op.
