Rosato Pinot Grigio Monteforte 2019
This wine is a lovely salmon-pink colour with delicate perfumes of red cherries and strawberries, on the palate it’s dry, with lingering strawberry hints on the finish. Try it with a plate of sardines, and an Ossau Iraty cheese.
In order to retain the ’coppery’ colour, the skins were left in contact with the juice for about 18 hours in order to give the wine this attractive tint. The juice was then fermented at a low temperature, around 15°C, to retain the subtle aromatic characters of the grape.
The Cantina di Monteforte co-op is situated in the eastern part of Soave Classico and Soave. They have some of the best vineyards in Soave Classico.
