In 2010 Pacheco Pereda was founded in Mendoza by Alejandro Bulgheroni with the aim of developing sustainable viticulture in Argentina. This vision has resulted in one of Argentina’s largest organic-certified vineyard holdings. The name ‘Pacheco Pereda’ nods to 20th-century migrant families who arrived in Argentina to establish farms before industrial agriculture existed here.
Deep purple in colour, on the nose there are concentrated aromas of plum, black cherries and a hint of violet. On the palate, there are flavours of red fruit, well-balanced with soft, supple tannins.
Stronger flavoured and richer foods are a great match – think steak fajitas, beef empanadas and lamb kebabs. Malbecs love semi-hard cheeses that aren’t too salty – asiago, cheddar, colby, and gouda are all excellent choices.
