Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc Ribbonwood 2022
£15.00
The Ribbonwood wines are made by Framingham’s Andrew Brown. The name of this range comes from the Ribbonwood trees, New Zealand’s tallest native deciduous species, which grow around the vineyard in Renwick.
This Sauvignon Blanc has an engaging nose, with aromas of grapefruit peel, a hint of thyme and gentle stony minerality. On the palate, there are flavours of lemon with sweet herbal and redcurrant flavours. Supple and satisfying, the wine is balanced by a fine acid backbone.
Sauvignon Blanc is a good match for asparagus and a mild goat’s cheese would also match really well. I particularly like Rachel, a gentle, semi hard Somerset Goats Cheese from the Teddington Cheese.
