Mount Pleasant was founded in 1921 by legendary winemaker Maurice O’Shea, widely recognised as a pioneer of the industry and the father of modern Australian winemaking. Over the estate’s illustrious 100 year history, there have been only five chief winemakers, with Adrian Sparks at the helm since 2018. Adrian has stayed faithful to O’Shea’s legacy in creating elegant, balanced and expressive wines, which celebrate the land in Australia’s oldest wine region.
The wine is very pale straw with green hues. It has intense aromas of lemon, lime and grapefruit, coupled with the wonderful aged character of honey and toast. The palate shows lively ripe citrus flavours, it has a fleshy character with fine acidity and a long lingering finish. This wine will cellar to be a definitive example of the classic Hunter Semillon style.
