Gavi di Gavi Lugarara La Giustiniana 2023
£19.00
Gavi is a region in the Province of Alessandria in Piedmont. Gavi wines are made exclusively from the Cortese grape, and the label “Gavi di Gavi” means the wine comes from the township of Gavi
Made by a good producer (and La Giustiniana is a good producer, with a very nice palace to show for it!), it has intense complex aromas and flavours of white flower, citrus, white pepper and stone fruit.
The lovely texture and acidity of this wine makes it a perfect match for Taleggio (a washed rind cheese that veers towards the stinky), and I think it is stunning with pan fried tiger prawns.
