`Gran Malbec`Dedicado, Uco Valley Finca Flichman 2018
£28.00
The winery was founded in 1910 by Polish immigrant Don Sami Flichman. Today the wines are made by Germán Berra, one of Argentina’s brightest talents, who was recognised as the ‘Best Young Winemaker’ in the Argentina Wine Awards in 2016. Germán works closely with consultant and renowned winemaker Alberto Antonini.
A deep red wine with ruby shades. The bouquet is layered with black fruit, pepper, eucalyptus and chocolate notes. Elegant and fresh but with firm tannins, the finish is long and fruity.
This is great with robust stews, roasted lamb and mint and mushroom stuffed peppers. It is also delicious with a good hunk of cheddar, gouda or, for something a bit different, gorgonzola.
International Wine Challenge 2021, Gold.
