Les Hauts de Perganson Bordeaux 2018
£19.00
The second wine of this chateau, which has illustrious neighbours in Pauillac and St Julien. It is made from grapes from younger vines (approximately 10 years old), and receives less wood than its bigger stablemate Chateau Larose Perganson, which I also sell.
It is deep ruby red in colour, with aromas of blackberries, cassis, sweet spices and vanilla. On the palate, its velvety tannins are balanced with excellent acidity. A delicious Bordeaux blend ready to drink now, try it with some lamb chops, and a hunk of Beaufort cheese.
The blend is approximately 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot with dashes of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. We visited the estate during our Bourdeaux tour in 2019, and enjoyed a great tasting.
