Rosé Château Beaulieu ‘Cuvée Alexandre’ Provence Rose 2024

One of the highlights of our 2018 Provence Wine Tour, this elegant château dates back to 1576 as a stronghold for Henry III. The Mediterranean climate ensures perfect ripening with cool Mistral winds adding to the freshness of the wines.
We were stunned by this rosé, a blend of mainly Grénache, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cinsault , and a tiny amounts of of Rolle (aka Vermentino), Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. It is just perceptibly pink with the most delicate of aromas and yet a beautifully fresh weight of strawberry and raspberry fruit in the mouth. The ideal summer drink.
At the château we enjoyed it with a chilled asparagus and bacon soup, it would be perfect with grilled asparagus, or a summery salad, particularly with some burrata cheese (or a good mozarella di buffala).
