Tim’s Classic Christmas Case (12 bottles)

Tim’s Classic Christmas Case (12 bottles) brings together some beautiful wines which also offer great value for money.  This fabulous mix will complement perfectly any festive meal or celebration.

This 12 bottle case comprises 2 x 75cl bottle of each of the wines listed below except the Botrytis Semillon which is 37.5cl.

– 2 x Monopolio Durello Spumante 2023 
This single vintage Italian sparkling wine comes from a single vineyard site so the quality is excellent.  It is pale yellow in colour with delicate aromas of papaya and plums.  The palate shows green apple fruit and saline acidity, with a fine and long finish.

– 2 x Soave Classico ‘Terre di Monteforte’ 2023
Made from 100% Garganega grapes, this super wine is a great example of well made Soave at a very good price.  It is crisp, floral and fresh on the nose followed by a dry, textured apple-ey fruit palate.  I particularly enjoyed it with some butternut squash ravioli. And it’s perfect with semi-soft cheeses like Teddington Cheese’s Dolce di Maremma or mild goat’s cheeses.

– 2 x Chardonnay Three Lions Great Southern 2023 
This wine is medium straw yellow in colour and carries aromas of ripe stone fruit such as white peach and nectarine, mingled with notes of sweet cashew nut. The palate is fruit-forward and intense, with subtle oak flavours providing a nice textural component to the natural cool climate acid backbone. The wine retains an appealing taughtness and freshness throughout.  Poultry, richer fish, and creamy pasta dishes all work wonderfully with this wine, as do Brie and Camembert.

– 2 x Sangiovese Fantini Farnese 2022
A youthful and appealing wine, garnet red in colour and intense on the nose with vibrant red fruit, cherries and herbal characters. On the palate, it has bright fruity notes of strawberry and morello cherry, with subtle vanilla characters from the oak. It is really well-balanced, medium-bodied, with ripe tannins and fresh acidity. This wine cries out for food – grilled meats, a mushroom risotto and tomato-based dishes pair beautifully. Fontina, a cheese from the Val d’Aosta made from cow’s milk (a bit like a Gruyere) is a fine match.

– 2 x Shiraz Lionheart of the Barossa Dandelion Vineyards 2021 
Deep purply red in colour with generous aromas of blueberries and blackberries, pepper notes and Christmas pudding like spice.  The palate develops a fabulous mouthful of plum and raspberry with firm tannins and a lengthy finish.  It would be great with Beef Bourgignon, Venison En Croute and a Pecorino cheese.

– 2 x Botrytis Semillon Peter Lehmann (37.5cl) 2023
Peter Lehman is a legend in Australian winemaking.  He has created a global brand of top class wines covering every price point.  This is medium gold in colour, and exhibits intense, luscious lemon, honey and dried fruits on the nose.  The palate is rich and concentrated, with ripe tropical apricots and a clean sweet finish.  This is delicious with tarte tatin, or any quality blue cheese.
