Tempranillo Crianza Finca Museum 2020
£16.00
Deep cherry in colour with intense aromas and flavours of red berries with smoke, coconut and mocha from the oak barrels it has spent 14 months in. Lovely ripe tannins and velvety texture lead to smooth, lingering finish.
Have it with your Sunday roast rib of beef, a nutty, aubergine-ey bake, and if there’s any left, some Manchego.
In 2019, on our tours to Ribera del Duero, Cigales, Toro and Rueda, we visited Finca Museum, owned by the huge Baron de Ley wine group. Export manager Inigo Echavarri had driven 260km from Logroño to meet us along with their winemaker Luis Chaca, and we walked around the winery, glass in hand, tasting from the tanks.
