Sancerre Domaine Sautereau (37.5cl) 2019
£12.00
David Seauterau is the ninth generation making exception wine in the village Crézancy just to the west of Sancerre. This has lovely pure intense fruit on the nose, peach and grapefruit complemented by floral and limestone notes. On the palate fabulous acidity combined with intense fresh apppley citrus fruit, with a long finish.
This was one of Decanter Magazine’s top wines in their May 2020 review of Loire Sauvignon.
Great with some pan fried sea bream with a sage and butter sauce, and of course the local Crottin de Chavignol goat’s cheese. And here’s an idea – what about Gazpacho, maybe along with some other mini starters at a reception?
One the Classic French wines included in our online tastings at the end of June.
