Riesling Morts Block Kilikanoon 2016
The wine is pale straw in appearance with brilliant clarity and youthful green tints. On the nose, clean and bright with aromas of lemon curd and freshly squeezed lime, while on the palate the pine-tingling acidity complements the citrus rind and subtle tropical fruit nuances. Powerful zesty finish – this is wine that could be left to evolve in the cellar – if you want to wait for it to develop the distinctive petrolly characteristics of the best Rieslings. Or you could drink it now, with some some pan-fried scallops or a hunk of Taleggio or Epoisses – careful not to let the latter escape while you are lingering over the wine.
