Domaine Ostertag was founded in the 1960s and now has 13 hectares of vines split among 75 plots in five villages. André Ostertag is described as a revolutionary winemaker and arguably Alsace’s most famous and respected. He is a pioneer, pushing the appellation’s boundaries, constantly experimenting and innovating to coax the ultimate expression of terroir. He has been running his Domaine along biodynamic lines since 1998.
A dry style, it is very intense in both aroma and flavour, flaunting notes of lemon zest, white blossom, grapefruit, candied peel and spice. It has a beautiful texture and a well-integrated acidity which culminates in an incredibly refreshing finish.
