Pavillon de Leoville Poyferre 2015
£50.00
The vineyards at Leoville Poyferre originally formed part of the great Leoville estate. Following the death of Marquis de la Cases, the vast property was split into three and the Marquis’ daughter’s share became what we know as Leoville Poyferre. Today Didier Cuvelier holds the reigns. He has been responsible for the property’s renaissance. Of all the Leoville estates, Poyferre produces the most perfumed and most exotic. There is a lushness and seductiveness to all Didier’s wines.
The bouquet reveals undertones of dark berries, hints of tobacco and coffee, violets and earth and mineral notes. On the palate, the rich taste of the wine combines the nuances of tart cherries and cassis, soft texture and rounded tannins.
