Pinot Noir `Heritage Collection` De Loach 2020


Burgundian estate Jean-Claude Boisset purchased De Loach in 2003 and brought the focus back to the estate’s original high-quality winemaking philosophy, with specific emphasis on small lot winemaking, particularly of Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley. The winery’s 17-acre estate vineyard has been completely restored and converting to organic and biodynamic viticulture.

The Pinot Noir was made from fruit grown in premium vineyards throughout northern and central California, helping to achieve a unique balance of delicate Pinot characteristics and more intense fruit flavours.  It is elegant and well-balanced, offering mouthwatering flavours of cherry, cranberry and strawberry, accented beautifully with a touch of spice. It is medium-bodied in style with a juicy finish.

This is a great wine with roast chicken…but if you’ve had one too many of those (and, lets face it, we all probably have!), how about prawn and salmon cakes, or pork loin saltimbocca, or grilled, stuffed mushrooms?  Epoisses, Gruyere and aged Manchego are all delicious matches.
