Douro Branco Papa Figos 2017

£11.00

Pale lemon in colour, the nose is aromatic with pronounced floral, citrus and stone fruit aromas.  On the palate it has great freshness, balanced acidity and a fruity richness aided by a little bit of oak barrel ageing.

Would be ideal with Tricolore salad, fresh asparagus, any fish like bream or bass and Garrotxa – a hard goat’s cheese.

Everyone loved this wine at our Portugese tastings at Richmond and Teddington Wine Societies.  Made from an eclectic blend of unpronounceable, mainly indigenous Portugese varieties (50% Rabigato, 15% Viosinho, 15% Arinto/Pedernã, 15% Códega, and 5% Moscatel), it delivers fabulous quality for the price.

Casa Ferreirinha, owned by Sogrape, pays tribute to legendary Porto matriarch Dona Antónia Ferreira, affectionately nicknamed ‘Ferreirinha’, the first producer in the region dedicated to making light wines.
