Richmond Wine Society - the wines of Tasmania @ The Britannia Pub

We have a very exciting tasting in February as we reveal the exceptional quality of Tasmania.

There has been a surge in vineyard plantings as both Australian and International investors have begun to realise the potential. Tasmania stands apart from much of the rest of Australia thanks to its island status and the cool climate that prevails within.

There is a wonderfully diverse mix of grapes with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc being at the fore. We will taste an eclectic mix of wines with sparkling and dessert wine also represented amongst the superb whites and reds.

Be prepared for an exceptional evening of extremely well crafted wines.

Tim Syrad, who has 25 years experience of running wine tastings, runs Richmond Wine Society, which meets (generally) on the last Tuesday and Wednesday of the month at the Britannia Pub, Brewer’s Lane, Richmond.  Tim is a fervent advocate that wine is to be enjoyed without snobbery. Whether you are a complete novice or an experienced taster, there will be plenty to learn and enjoy.  Tim also runs the monthly Teddington Wine Society and hosts fine wine tastings and dinners in local restaurants.
