A superlative evening of Premier Cru and Grand Cru Champagne awaits us in April.
The concept of vineyard grading is not well publicised and yet the “Echelle des Crus” or vineyard classification is crucial in determining the price that growers receive for their grapes.
Less than 9% of the Champagne area is Grand Cru where arguably the best fruit is produced.
We will be tasting a top class range of Champagnes that are either 100% Grand Cru or Premier Cru or a blend of both.
A mix of high quality wines will be on show ranging from small growers to Grande Marques.
A truly exceptional and highly decadent evening of fine Champagnes will be accompanied by a delicious four course meal at Bacco which also demonstrate how well Champagne pairs with food.
As we will have an unprecedented average bottle price and extra Champagne to wash down dinner, the price will be £100.00 per head.
Fine wine tasting dinners are hosted by Tim Syrad, who has 25 years experience of running wine tastings, and also runs the monthly Richmond and Teddington Wine Societies. He is a fervent advocate that wine is to be enjoyed without snobbery. Whether you are a complete novice or an experienced taster, there will be plenty to learn and enjoy.
