  classification of 1855 merely documented what was already known\, that th

 owing 100 years it came to epitomise wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon an
 d Merlot.  But times change and Bordeaux has increasingly been challenged 
 by new regions with more reliable climates\, while becoming a victim of it
 s own success\, producing more wine that it can sell.  The good news for u
 s is that the Bordelais’ response to these headwinds has been to focus on 
 quality and better value for money\, and whether white\, rosé\, sparkling 
 or red\, they are producing wonderful wines at reasonable prices.</div>\n<
