 evealing the incredible quality and elegance of this previously underestim

 e famous classification of 1855 merely documented what was already known\,
  that the Médoc peninsula has some of best terroirs in the world\, and in 
 the following 100 years it came to epitomise wines made from Cabernet Sauv
 ignon and Merlot.  But times change and Bordeaux has increasingly been cha
 llenged by new regions with more reliable climates\, while becoming a vict
 im of its own success\, producing more wine that it can sell.  The good ne
 ws for us is that the Bordelais’ response to these headwinds has been to f
 ocus on quality and better value for money\, and whether white\, rosé\, sp
 arkling or red\, they are producing wonderful wines at reasonable prices.<
