I am an independent wine merchant and educator based in Teddington.

I run local Wine Societies in Richmond, Teddington and Surbiton, and lockdown is not stopping us – tastings are being run by Zoom, with samples delivered to participants on the morning of the tasting.

I have a number of online tastings recorded on Youtube, so you can enjoy a fantastic range of wines at home at your convenience – France, Italy, Spain and the New World have all featured.

I run private events, and tastings for local groups (sports clubs, PTAs), and I have a corporate events business called Taste of the Grape.  Every year I take groups of people to destinations all over the world on Wine Holidays.

Our latest online tasting is of classic wines from the New World.  You can enjoy all of the tastings I have run since April, watching the recording on YouTube, and buying the wines – most available in half bottles.

My fabulous range of wines and online tastings can deliver a wine event in the comfort of your home.

I won the 2019 Wanderlust World Guide Awards Specialist Tour Guide of the Year.

Commended for my infectious passion, and being the perfect link between winemakers and travellers, I was given the award at the National Geographical Society.  The judges based their decision on the feedback from the dozens of clients who have been on tour with me.

Teddington Wine Society explores Tuscany and Marche @ by Zoom
Our first tasting of 2021 takes a wonderful look at the hallowed wines of Tuscany and the lesser known but high quality Marche. Our tasting will be via ZOOM from the comfort of your home!
Seven wines will be supplied in 50ml glass bottles, providing a perfect tasting amount.  They will be decanted on the morning of each event delivered to your home (to addresses within a radius of 10 miles around Teddington).
All you need is a couple of wine glasses to enjoy a fabulous tasting extravaganza of top class Italian wines. Tuscany needs no introduction – renowned for its top class reds and ‘SuperTuscans’. Marche will surprise you with high quality Verdicchio among others.

Tim Syrad, who has 25 years experience of running wine tastings, runs Teddington Wine Society, which meets monthly.  Tim is a fervent advocate that wine is to be enjoyed without snobbery. Whether you are a complete novice or an experienced taster, there will be plenty to learn and enjoy.  Tim also runs the monthly Richmond Wine Society and hosts fine wine tastings and dinners in local restaurants.
